Lake County Literacy Coalition (LCLC) is a non-profit volunteer organization that sponsors and supports the Adult and Family Literacy Program of Lake County Library.

Our Mission:

To promote increased literacy in Lake County through added financial support of the Adult and Family Literacy Programs of the Lake County Library.

LCLC is affiliated with Pro-Literacy, the world’s oldest and largest nonprofit organization dedicated to adult literacy.

Come to our fun-filled Bingo Fundraiser sponsored by Lake County Literacy Coalition and win big! Must Be 18+ to play! We accept credit cards! $25 per person (9 game pack) $12 per additional packs! Purchase of food and alcohol will be available. All proceeds will go towards ongoing effort to promote Adult and Family Literacy in Lake County. Location: Lakeport Senior Center 527 Konocti Avenue, Lakeport, Ca. 95453. Doors Open at 4:30pm! Bingo Play starts at 5:30pm! Save the date! March 22, 2025, 5pm to 8pm! On May 20th, 2024, we celebrated our amazing tutors at our annual Tutor Appreciation Tea at the Ely Stage Stop and Country Museum! We are grateful for all of the hard work and dedication our tutors put in throughout the year. They are truly wonderful and big-hearted individuals, providing the perfect support for students in their English writing and reading journey. Thank you, tutors! Additionally, we would like to extend our thanks to John Parker, Lake County’s historian and archaeologist, for taking the time to educate us about the history of Lake County at our Tutor Appreciation.

Interested in helping others? Do you have a good command of the English language? Are you compassionate and patient? Consider becoming a volunteer literacy tutor? Bilingual tutors especially needed for our English as a Second language program. Our next tutor training is scheduled for April 24, 2024 in Clearlake.
